5 pounds spareribs, separated
     3 celery stalks
     1 green pepper
     1 large onion
     3 tablespoons butter
     1/2 cup water
     2 tablespoons cornstarch
     1 small can crushed pineapple
     2 tablespoons soy sauce
     3 tablespoons brown sugar
     1/2 cup vinegar
     Salt and pepper to taste

Bake ribs in shallow pan 45 minutes at 400 degrees F.
Finely chop celery, green pepper, and onion, and cook
  slowly in butter for 5 minutes.
Mix cornstarch and water, and add to vegetables.
Stir until mixture thickens.
Add pineapple, soy sauce, brown sugar, and vinegar.
Drain fat from ribs, and pour sauce over them.
Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees F.
